When attempting to print checks from an accounting program, you receive the message You either are using either an unsupported check style, have selected unsupported check printing settings, or have entered a zero amount. Please choose a supported a check style, use supported check printing settings, and print checks with non zero amounts.

Possible Cause/Solution #1: Our software only works with the default zero values in the accounting program for vertical and horizontal alignment. Set the vertical and horizontal alignment values to 0 in your accounting program.

To do this:

QuickBooks users: File | Printer Setup | Check/Paycheck (from the Form Name drop-down) | Align.
Quicken users: File | Printer Setup | For Printing Checks | Align

NOTE: If you need to align your check, use Check Designer's printer alignment tool. To access this, open Check Designer and go to File | Printer Alignment.

Possible Cause/Solution #2: Our software only works with portrait check orientation. Set the orientation to portrait in your accounting program.

To do this:

QuickBooks users: File | Printer Setup | Check/Paycheck (from the Form Name drop-down) | Options (Layout Tab)
Quicken users: File | Printer Setup | For Printing Checks | Settings

Possible Cause/Solution #3: Our software only works with image files (company logo, bank logo, signature files) inserted on the check design made with Check Designer. Remove any image file or logo you may have inserted via your accounting program.

To do this:

QuickBooks users: File | Printer Setup | Check/Paycheck (from the Form Name drop-down) | Uncheck the Use Logo box.
Quicken users: File | Print Check | Uncheck the Print your logo box.

Possible Cause/Solution #4: If your version of your accounting program has an option for partial page check printing, make sure this is also set to Portrait.
