This is a known issue with Bookkeeper v7 and earlier. The issue has to do with the font color chosen on your Windows Desktop theme. Please do the following:

  1. Click on the Start button.
  2. Go to the Control Panel.
  3. Open the "Display"
  4. Click on the Appearance tab.
  5. Click on the Advanced button.
  6. Click the drop-down list below Item and select the "Active Title Bar".
  7. On the Font line, click on the Color and select the white box.
  8. Click on OK and then click on the other OK.

At this point, the problem should be resolved. Re-launch Bookkeeper and verify that the boxes are displaying correctly.
